Lex & Kal dug into their first snow ever. I thought they would be scared or they'd think it was cold. Not! They raced out into it and soon had the entire deck covered in their footprints. Lex kept sticking his nose in the snow and then sneezing. Kal did try finding a clear spot to stand, but wanted to stay outside. Now they're wondering what I did with the snow. Fortunately for me, it's melted away.
I told the kittens they couldn't go out on the deck until spring....but I'm a pushover. The fresh air seems to remind them that they are young and crazy as they run wild for 20 minutes after they come back in.
Here is Kal climbing around the chair leg like it's a set of monkey bars at the park.
They have no idea how cold it's going to get or what that white stuff is, but I have a feeling they're going to be big fans of turkey!
I haven't figured out if I think a Christmas tree would survive them...anyone have any experience with this?
I know..I know...now you've seen the ultimate in kitten spoilage. I saw a lady with one of these pet strollers this summer at a festival and thought they would love it. True to form, they leaped in immediately and we have gone for a couple strolls down the block and back.
We made short trips just in case they would get motion sickness or something. Trying to break them in easy. Besides that, just the scenery is like kitty overload when most of the time they only see the inside of the house (boring).
When they're zipped in you can hardly see them because the mesh is made to shield the sun. They were able to see a couple doggies up close this way. I'm sure the dogs knew they were cats, but the unsuspecting owners assume it's a baby stroller since these don't seem to be that common around here.
Just in case you're interested, we got our stroller by Pet Gear through Pet Adventure Outlet on Ebay for $25 + shipping.
Lex was impressed with the box of books I came home with from the city library's annual book sale.
I love a bargain, so these sales are right up my alley, but I can't hold a candle to those professional book salers! They started lining up over an hour before the doors opened. Some of them even brought their dinner with them and ate it sitting on the floor.
They were equipped with numerous boxes and portable carts. Some had digital title lists and scanners that they ran over the books and waited to beep. Isn't that cheating?
I, on the other hand, just look for recognizable covers or catchy titles. Of course, I did watch one lady grab a book from under my nose that had I seen one second earlier would have been in my grip instead of hers, but that's the thrill of the chase, right?
All in all, I thought I did pretty well and have enough new books to get me through a long cold winter and a few favorites I couldn't pass up... just in case I think of the perfect person who might appreciate my taste =)
Five and a half months old... they're on the countertops now, the refrigerator, the cabinet tops, and pretty much anywhere they set their eyes on!
Cooking has become increasingly difficult as they try to parade across the stovetop. While this kittenhood thing is damn cute, I'm getting ready for them to settle into adulthood soon=)
Here they are on the counter behind the kitchen sink. Don't they look guilty?
